Description
Herb Mullein #4042
Verbascum Thapsus Biennial, used in herbal remedies, but not as readily easy to find as it once was. It can grow up to 4+ft tall in its second year. Grows best in dry, sandy areas. We have one established cultivated patch of mullein.
Mullein seeds require light to germinate. Sow seeds 8-12″ apart on the soil surface and press lightly to settle. Seeds will sprout in 12-15 days. Transplant seedlings outdoors once danger of frost has passed. Cold stratifying the seeds for 4 weeks prior to planting will help seeds germinate. Mullein grows best in poor soil along old roads, meadow edges. The leaves are used in herbal medicine for respiratory health.
Certified organic 100+ seeds/pkt
Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. We do not use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs and only grow hand tended heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We do not grow any vegetable or herb hybrids. Because of these practices our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.
