Brussels Sprouts Long Island Improved #3007
(100 Days) Brassica oleracea The common commercial sprout until hybrids dominated the market. Firm heads, heavy set (50-100 per plant), ready over an extended period. Heirloom introduced in the 1890s. The sprouts are most delicious after a frost or two.

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Plant 1/4″ deep. Seeds germinate in 5-10 days. Transplant outdoors 24″ apart before the last frost. Slow-growing, long-season vegetable that requires a regular water and full sun. Sow outdoors as soon as possible in spring. Plant 1/4-1/2″ deep and 2″ apart in rows 24″ apart, they are heavy feeders so lots of organic material will be beneficial, soil temperature should be 18 to 21 degrees Celsius.. Thin to 4-6″ apart. Sun to partial shade.
