(105-110 days) Cucurbita maxima. Average weights 8-10 pounds, however we have had them grow up to 20lbs. Our favorite for making squash soup. Great flavor and they store very well. Lots of flesh with a very tough outer skin. 3 to 5 squash per plant

Easy to grow. Seeds may be started indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost or direct-sown when temperatures and the soil have warmed. Sow seed 1-2″ deep and thin to 3-4′ apart. Seeds can take 7 to 14 days to germinate and want soil temperature of 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Squash like rich, loose, nutrient dense soil so add compost or fertilizer for good results.
