Description
Tomato, Amish Paste #8000
Old Amish heirloom, absolutely wonderful, one of our very most favorite tomatoes. Vigorous plants produce heaps of large, meaty, bright red fruits from mid-summer to frost. Juicy, great flavor for cooking, canning, or fresh eating. Shapes range from ox-heart to teardrop to almost beefsteak. Not fancy, but a true workhorse. We can’t say enough about this great variety. 75-85 days.
Certified organic 30 seeds/pkt
Seeds need to be started indoors 6-7 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4″ deep in a light soil mix; harden off & plant out 24 – 48″ apart, in not too rich a soil, after all danger of frost is over. Tomatoes benefit from staking.
Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. We do not use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs and only grow hand tended heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We do not grow any hybrids. Because of these practices our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.
