Capsicum annuum Hot Excellent flavor fresh or dried and ground up. 3-4” long avg 30,000-50,000 Scoville units. We get very high yields from only a few plants.

Peppers require lots of heat to do well so they benefit in our climate from greenhouse growing. If planting outdoors, choose an area that gets full sun and is protected.

Start peppers indoors 6 weeks before last frost date and grow under bright grow lights for 12 to 14 hrs per day. Soil must be 25 to 29C for good germination and it can take 10 to 21 days for seeds to germinate. Only transplant to the garden once night time temperatures are above 12C.
