50 to 80 days Brassica oleracea This is the smallest growing of our kales, suitable for even a small garden. Traditional blue-green, highly-curled, frilled leaves, the most common form of kale. Small leaves are tender in salad mix, large leaves are robust and delicious. Becomes even tastier after a light frost.
Certified organic 200+ seeds/packet
Direct sow in early spring to mid-summer for late summer and fall or early harvests. You can also start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost, and transplant out as soon as the soil warms up. Optimal soil temperature: 10-30°C. Seeds should germinate in 7-10 days. Plant 1/4″ deep and thin to 14 – 18″ apart.
