Herb Sage #4019
Salvia officinalis, is a classic culinary herb which is also used in dried bouquets and sage bundles. Medicinally, sage is high in vitamins and for its anti-bacterial properties. Makes a wonderful tea for a sore throat, canker sores and to stop the flow of breast milk. Plant in the garden because, sage’s grey-green leaves are attractive in plantings with other flowers and attract beneficial pollinators.

Start Sage seeds indoors mid-winter to early spring and transplant out or direct sow starting late spring. Starting indoors is more reliable in our Maritime weather, particularly if using bottom heat and maintaining soil temperature at 15-21°C. Germination occurs in 2 to 3 weeks.
