Urtica dioica This medicinal perennial is widely used as an early-spring steamed green, an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, and a safe, reliable, nourishing tonic with a wide array of healing properties. Excellent dried for animals and livestock. Makes an incredibly nutritious compost tea for the garden. Can become invasive if not carefully managed, we recommend growing in large pots or raised beds and to cut seed heads off prior to seed maturing to contain it from spreading.
