Also known as Bachelor’s Buttons . Centaurea cyanus. Annual edible flowers in teas, salads, desserts or great for bouquets or drying. Can grow 36″ in height. We grow a lot of cornflowers to add as an ingredient to some of our herbal teas and for use in our own kitchen.

Direct sow just before last frost in the spring. Work slowly lightly and plant seeds and barely cover. Plant repeatedly at intervals through spring and summer. If starting indoors soil temp should be between 15 – 21 degrees Celsius and once germination occurs place under bright lights for 10 to 14 hours a day. Transplant outside once danger of frost has passed.
