Description
Beans Madiera Maroon
(50 days fresh 75 – 85 dry) Phaseolus vulgaris Heavy yielding tall bush type plants with 4 to 5″ long pods that are quite wide. Good eating as a fresh bean when harvested young or makes a great, meaty dry bean for cooking and baking. These came to us originally in 2017 from Seeds of Diversity to grow out and protect and we now maintain this variety here on our farm. Very rugged plants that thrive when other varieties struggle in poor climate conditions.
Certified organic 40+ seeds/pkt

Leave the pods on the plant until they have completely dried. Store dry, shelled beans in an airtight container. Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. We do not use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs and only grow hand tended heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We do not grow any vegetable or herb hybrids. Because of these practices our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.
