Lettuce Rouge D’Hiver #5038
(28 days baby 60 days ) This lettuce is a very old French heirloom variety. Rouge D’Hiver does very well for us here and can handle a wide range of temperatures and weather. Great flavor and color. Because of these reasons it is a mainstay on our farm.

Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Plant seeds 1″ apart and 1/4″ deep. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days. Thin to 6-8″ apart for Looseleaf, 10″ apart for Romaine, and 10-12″ apart for Crisphead. Sow continuously for a constant supply of lettuce. Lettuce is best grown in cooler weather and prefers full sun or partial shade, so long as these conditions are meet you can continually harvest the outer leaves as they grow.
