Peas thrive in cool weather. Once Soil temperatures reaches 68 degrees, sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Plant seeds 2-3″ apart and 1/2-1″ deep in rows 24″ apart. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days. Peas need support so trellis, cage, or use mesh or fencing to keep the plants off the ground to avoid disease and pest problems. Plant on each side of support to double yield.
