Tomatillo Toma Verde #8021
70 days Physallis philadelphica Starting green, these unique yellow-maturing tomatillo have an interesting purple blush on some fruits. Most will burst through their papery tan husks when ripe. Used in salsa, green sauce, chilli sauce, or fresh roasted. Tomatillos keep extremely well (for several weeks) in the fridge and freeze easily. An established patch often re-seeds in the garden. Likes warm growing conditions and full sun.
Certified organic 30 seeds/pkt
Seeds need to be started indoors 6-7 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4″ deep in a light soil mix; harden off & plant out 24 – 48″ apart, in not too rich a soil, after all danger of frost is over. Tomatillos benefit from staking.
Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil.
