Our Favorite (76 days) This thin – walled 8″ frying pepper. The long curved tapering pointed fruits turn deep red with shiny wrinkled skin when ripe. Pleasing sweet mild flavor, good raw, in stir – fries and, especially, fried. Brought to Connecticut from the village of Ruoti in the Basilicata region of southern Italy in 1887 by Jimmy Nardello’s mother.
Certified organic 30+ seeds per packet
Start peppers indoors 6 weeks before last frost date and grow under bright grow lights for 12 to 14 hrs per day. Soil must be 25 to 29C for good germination and it can take 10 to 21 days for seeds to germinate.Only transplant to the garden once night time temperatures are above 12C.
