Papaver somniferum  Can have double flowers or single petal blooms with dark velvety burgundy color. This poppy is stunning to say the least. Grows to a height of 24 – 36″ with a thick hairy stem and leaves similar to lettuce. Annual that self seeds quick easily. Best growing in areas away from strong winds.
