Description
Winter Squash Sweet REBA Acorn Squash #3345
(76-90 days) Cucurbita pepo. Resistant Early Bush Acorn (REBA). Developed by Cornell University. Sweet REBA Acorn continues putting energy into developing fruit long after most squash varieties have succumbed to powdery mildew. This means that the critical stage of sugar production is not debilitated by the disease late in the season. Plants are small and produce very high yields of squash. Average 4-5 per plant and are 1.5-2 lbs, very uniform, and round. Great storage variety.
Easy to grow. Seeds may be started indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost or direct-sown when temperatures and the soil have warmed. Sow seed 1-2″ deep and thin to 3-4′ apart. Seeds can take 7 to 14 days to germinate and want soil temperature of 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Squash like rich, loose, nutrient dense soil so add compost or fertilizer for good results.
