The rustic, pebbled kitchen gardens of Tuscany gave birth to this unique Italian heirloom kale, dating back to the 18th century. Prized for its phenomenal color (dark green, almost black, with a silvery-blue sheen), tall size up to 3′, and heavily-savored texture, it has a tangy, sweet, delicious flavor and is tolerant of both hot and cold weather. This primeval, dramatic kale has huge strapping blistered leaves up to 18″ radiating from the main stem.
