Radishes are a quick easy crop and great for succession planting every 2 – 3 weeks. Plant in spring several plantings and again in fall for best times. Cool weather crop that stores well in the refrigerator. Radishes like rich soil so fertilize for best results. Optimal soil temp for planting is 18 -24 degrees C and seeds should sprout in 5 – 7 days. Plant often and harvest promptly to avoid radishes from developing a woody bitter taste. Greens and seed pods of the radish plant are also edible.
