Pumpkin Howden #3323

(115 days) Cucurbita pepo Symmetrical fruits with hard ridged skin and thick flesh. Large spreading vines produce 4 to 6 uniform, deep orange fruits per plant, weighing 20 to 35 lb, often able to ripen fully in our climate. Developed by John Howden in Massachusetts and introduced by Harris Moran in 1973. The trick for us here in Nova Scotia to these is getting them planted as soon as possible and having the ability to cover them and protect from early frosts while they finish ripening.

Certified organic

Easy to grow. Seeds may be started indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost or direct-sown when temperatures and the soil have warmed. Sow seed 1-2" deep and thin to 3-4' apart.

Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. We do not use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs and only grow hand tended heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We do not grow any vegetable or herb hybrids. Because of these practices our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.

Our organic certification is through ECOCERT Canada  Ecocert | Act for a more sustainable world
