Kale Russian Frills #6513

(55 days) Brassica oleracea  A re-introduction of an almost-lost Oregon variety bred by Tim Peters. Similar to Red Russian when young, the purple and red-veined leaves get very frilly as they mature while remaining exceptionally tender. The dazzling frills upon frills upon frills make this 18"-28" kale a great addition to kale bunches or mesclun mixes.

Certified organic 200+ seeds/pkt

Direct sow in early spring to mid-summer for late summer and fall or early harvests. You can also start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost, and transplant out as soon as the soil warms up. Optimal soil temperature: 10-30°C. Seeds should germinate in 7-10 days. Plant 1/4" deep and thin to 14 - 18" apart.
