Description
Pepper Corno di Torro #4114
Sweet Pepper
(70 days to Green – 80 days Red) Sweet and flavorful large 6 – 8″ tapered Cubanelle type heirloom peppers, heavy yielding plants. Thin walled and a delight either fresh or cooked. Old Italian heirloom brought to North America by Immigrants. These look hot but they are not.
Peppers require lots of heat to do well so they benefit in our climate from greenhouse growing. If planting outdoors, choose an area that gets full sun and is protected.
Start peppers indoors 6 weeks before last frost date and grow under bright grow lights for 12 to 14 hrs per day. Soil must be 25 to 29C for good germination and it can take 10 to 21 days for seeds to germinate. Only transplant to the garden once night time temperatures are above 12C.
