Tomato Granny Cantrell German Red #8040

(85 Days) Solanum lycopersicum Indeterminate Original seeds were given to Lettie Cantrell from a World War II soldier returning home from Germany. Beefsteak type fruits weigh up to 2 pounds and are slightly flattened and heavy yielding. Eat these fresh or use for cooking and canning.

Start seeds indoors 6-7 weeks before last frost. Soil temp needs to be between 25-35°C and grow tomato seedlings under good lights for 10 to 12 hours a day.  Sow 1/4″ deep in a light soil mix; harden off & plant out 24 – 48″ apart, in rich soil, after all danger of frost is over. Tomatoes benefit from staking.
